This is the story of a side business that spawned a side side business.
About ten years ago, I thought it would be fun to flip a few houses while continuing to hold down a full-time job. I staged them myself with odds and ends from my own house.
Brokers walked through, liked the staging, and a side side business was born.
I no longer flip houses, but the staging business has grown quite a bit over the last decade.
My business philosophy is to charge a tad less than other stagers, work very quickly, start and finish projects exactly on time, and get paid out of escrow.
I’m uncomfortable bragging about myself, so I asked clients what they thought about my business and why they continue to hire me. Here are a smattering of their answers:
I never change the date or the timeline for a project. If I say we will start on Tuesday at 10 AM and finish on Wednesday at 4 PM, they know that is exactly how the job will get done.
I go the extra mile to make sure the client is happy.
I’m comfortable charging a smidge less than other stagers to have a greater volume of business.
I can calmly work with sellers in all sorts of challenging situations, including occasionally doing partial staging.
I’m both creative and low maintenance.
I give brokers and buyers furniture that they want if I’m sick of it.
They say I’m lively, fun, AND dependable. Apparently those characteristics do not always go hand in hand.
Those comments sum up my philosophy when it comes to both business and life in general, and I’d be delighted to share Bicycle Home Staging with you.
